Patrick F. FaganFamily Research Council, Senior Fellow and Director, Center for Research on Marriage and ReligionFrom my experience as a family therapist, a policy analyst and as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Social Services Policy in the federal government (Bush I Administration) I applaud what Marriage Advocates is working towards: educating those married and about-to-be-married in the legal traps that surround their marriage vows and what they can do in using the law to protect these vows and bypass these traps. |

Fr. Larry RichardsThe Reason for Our Hope Foundation, FounderAs priests, we work with couples to make certain they want to marry as the Catholic Church understands marriage. Unfortunately, we live in a culture which is very confused. State law requires every bride and groom to notify the government when they get married, and am I glad that a Constitutional Law Professor is inviting couples to put the terms of their Marriage in a signed written agreement. I think any bride or groom who sees the law professor's beautifully framed Proclamation, and Accompanying Booklet would be proud to include them as part of their family's marriage tradition because these Proclamations provide couples with the opportunity to commemorate their marriage promises - in elegant style - in a way that upholds the dignity and solemnity of marriage. |
