letter to priest, bishop
Due to the nature of our laws, now,
when couples marry, they are essentially rolling a Trojan Horse into their
homes, since the state marriage license — which priests require all couples
to obtain — is the vehicle the courts use to gain total control over the
family, once one spouse sets foot into an attorney's office to begin a
divorce action.

asking EWTN's Johnette Benkovich Nov. 12, 2005
Johnette Benkovich gave a woman
who is in an unhappy marriage advice that perhaps the marriage is invalid
because the man most likely had his problems before the marriage took place.
I am just wondering if Johnette is aware that most U.S. tribunalists are
using "failure to form a communion of life," or similar wording, in order
to declare marriages null in U.S. tribunals, and that the Roman Rota overturns
these declarations of nullity because there is no such ground for invalidity.

...you advised a woman who was married
to an addict. The woman did not want a divorce and had been praying rosaries
for her husband's conversion. ... You advised her to talk to her local
tribunal and made the comment that he probably had these problems before
the marriage and therefore was likely not emotionally capable of marriage. I
was quite saddened that you would give this woman this advice. ...

about divorce and remarriage that was sent to the Marriage and Family office
of Bishop John D'Arcy. The Bishop is the chairman of the board of OSV.
In the letter she states that canon Law 1692, and 1151-1155 require that
couples obtain a tribunal or bishop's separation decree before approaching
a civil divorce court.

Priests to teach about limits on divorce, using Encylical and Canon Law
... with no-fault divorce,
an abandoning spouse can use the civil court to remove innocent children
from the home of the dedicated, innocent spouse. Canon law
specifies the need to obtain authorization from one’s bishop before trying
to obtain a civil divorce or legal separation, and this canon law likely
comes from Pope Leo XIII’s Encyclical Arcanum. Perhaps you’d consider teaching
Catholics about this encyclical too

I have read on the Archdiocese of Chicago's web site concerning marriage

Analysis of Peters by Temaat
It has been the argument of some
that the annulment process as it is conducted in American diocesan tribunals
is facilitating and promoting divorce and remarriage among Catholics at
an unprecedented rate. Some examples from Peters’ latest book supports
that argument in the following ways:
